My Bio
I was born sometime last century and am not yet dead, well, I'm pretty sure I'm not anyway.
I have been known on occasions to produce things that some people might call art and if I continue to survive some of it will turn up here. I also like to wander around taking pictures of pretty much anything that grabs my attention, generally things from nature. I have also inadvertantly written a book. It wasn't my fault, it was caused by a couple of my sketches wanting to have their stories told, then they conspired to have their stories linked and I made the mistake of leaving the story up when I crawled off to bed around dawn - someone read it, not only read it but liked it and now the story is taking over my life. Maybe if I get it published it will leave me alone and people will stop asking me when it is going to get published then I can go back to sketching in peace.

Its what's called a "Wet Season," something we used to get every year but we haven't had a wet season since 1976 (in South-East Queensland). Perhaps the wet is trying to make up for all those missed years because this is becoming a seriously wet (possibly soggy) season. It has already been raining pretty constantly for two months, the six weeks before that were just a bit of practice rain for the weather to get into its stride.
I haven't seen rain like this since 1974 but even then there were occasional days where it was mostly dry and the rain had the decency to ease off after flooding everything. Already there are towns out west that have

Call of the Wild

Every so often I get these strange urges to seek out wild places and get as far from civilisation as I can (actually, I feel like this pretty much all the time), to enjoy the peace and solitude of the bush.
The problem is cost and opportunity. Today I siezed the opportunity to head down to Mt Barney National Park and see if I could discover the summit of Mt Ernest. Doesn't seem too hard, just keep heading upwards until you reach a point where there is no more up.
